Very refreshing and helpful take on Evangelism
5 stars By Tom, Dec 23 2017
This book gives one of the most biblical takes on evangelism I've heard. Rico is honest about his own struggles with evangelism - even while being a paid evangelist - and has a way of clearly articulating the necessity of evangelism without it simply being a "do this" but rather showing us from scripture why, how and what re: evangelism.

Cross the painline
5 stars By Rory, May 26 2017
This is an honest book. It's in the title even! Down to earth and intensely practical, this book challenges us to dig deep into our hearts as to what things we are loving more than God, preventing us from sharing Christ with others. Easy to read, but challenging to hear this is a must read book.

Challenging
5 stars By Bec, Sep 07 2016
Warning: Don't read this book unless you are willing to be confronted with your own unwillingness to evangelise! Yes this book is challenging, but it is also helpful, as it doesn't leave you feeling guilty, but rather shows how God has equipped us for the task of evangelism that He's given us. There is a particularly helpful chapter on thinking about what your evangelistic style is, as well as some great pointers for how to share your testimony (I especially appreciated the ideas for sharing your testimony if you've been following Jesus for as long as you can remember). This book has encouraged me to put evangelism back on my agenda.

Confidence boost I needed
5 stars By Lauren Watt, Nov 11 2015
'I find evangelism hard.' The first sentence of Rico Tice's 'Honest Evangelism' is exactly why I picked this book up. I agreed whole heartedly with the first two chapters - Evangelism is hard, but it is worth it. However, when I got to the third chapter on why we don't evangelise, I felt Rico had missed the mark for me personally. He gave me lots of serious issues I needed to think about, but I think there might be many other reasons we find evangelism tough. Having said that, the rest of the book is solid gold! It gave me confidence to do evangelism by reminding me that God is Sovereign, full of Grace and Power. The chapter on 'what to say' described a great, easy framework for how to talk about Jesus with our friends. Finally, there is a most helpful little section on how the cultural climate of evangelism has changed over the last 20 years. This helps us to rethink how we do evangelism for our current situation, acknowledging that evangelism is just getting harder and harder. But for Jesus Glory and the eternal salvation of our friends and family, by the power of God and prayer, this book has been the confidence boost I needed for starting up conversations anew.
