It's OK...
3 stars By Ling, Jun 23 2017
I bought this hoping it'll give me a clearer understanding of the Books in the Bible. However, I didn't get much out of it and it felt dry to me. The book doesn't provide any biblical revelation. It explains the chapters in each Book plainly and it is what it is. It might be helpful to some, but it wasn't helpful for me.

Handy guide
4 stars By Chris, Nov 09 2015
This is a very useful guide to have alongside your Bible reading. You get an overview of the books, as well as a 'walk through' the chapters which are very helpful in understanding not just content but the themes within the entire story of the Bible. It is written without overcomplicating, and is easy to read. The sections are well set out so that you can pick out parts to read if necessary.

I recommend this to anyone who is interested in gaining an understanding of the historial context of each oft the books of the Bible in easy to follow conversational English.

Good companion when reading the Bible
4 stars By Julz, Feb 04 2015
This book is really good companion to be used when reading the Bible. It is like bible commentaries, but the language is very easy to read for laymen, and the structure is very easy to follow. Each book of the bible has a summary of what is the content about, what are the themes of the book, who is the author and date the book was written. Following the summary, there is an overview of the book and specific advice of reading the book, which is elaboration of the summary. It then divides the book into passages and explains each passage briefly. Greatly recommended for bible reading.
