Read it and give it away!
5 stars By Dave Miers, May 01 2007
Introducing God: Meeting the God who loves us aims to introduce people to God, that they may know him and have relationship with him. It is clear and easy to understand. Dominic is warm and engaging in his writing style. I thoroughly recommend this book to Christians as a book to read and then give away to non-Christian friends.

I like this book because it is based on Two Ways to Live ? a brilliant gospel outline that assumes nothing. It clearly explains key doctrines of Creation, Sin, Judgement, Atonement, Resurrection and Belief. This is great for a culture that knows nothing of the Bible and needs to go back to the beginning. The idea of sin can be difficult to explain. Dominic helpfully explains sin in terms of our declaration of autonomy from God. At the end of each chapter there is a story about people who have been introduced to God ? great examples of how real people have responded to the God who loves them. I also like this book because the message of the cross is clearly explained.

Introducing God reminds me of the gospel; it points me to the Bible and dependence on God; it has great illustrations; and is definitely suitable to give away.

This is a great book to read and a great book to give away. Buy a bucket-full and start giving them away!

Bargain-priced meeting with God
5 stars By David McKay, Apr 29 2007
If you are intending to join in one of the terrific Introducing God courses and are intending to read this book, you should ask yourself if you are the kind of person who will happily watch a football game, knowing the outcome. You are? Fine. Buy a copy without delay.

But, if you're someone who never saw the movie Titanic because you already knew the ending, you might want to attend the course first, and then read the book as a refresher.

I'm not trying to put you off, because I think this book is interesting, well-written and a very good presentation of the Christian message. I'm just letting you know that the book is substantially the same as the talks.

It does include a few extras, such as the stories at the end of each chapter of how people from a wide variety of backgrounds and ages came to faith.

Dominic Steele introduces us to a God who is a loving Creator who is utterly holy and just and who cannot allow evil, but who has provided for us to have our relationship with him restored through the voluntary death of his Son.

He goes to great pains to avoid religious jargon, and describes sin in terms of Prince Leonard of Hutt River Province declaring autonomy.

Dominic personalises the message, by telling us of his own failings and sharing about his own family life.

Highly recommended. You will enjoy both the book and the course.
