Beautiful Romance

I've never read any of Susan May Warren's books, but I absolutely LOVED this novel. A beautiful story with clever twists and a compelling romance. Highly recommend this entire series.

Love it. Just love it.
5 stars By Helen W, Aug 20 2015
I've read the first four books in this series so far, and this is definitely my favourite.

Eden is so easy to relate to - trying to find her own special place in the world. She loves her family, and you can understand how she's so invested in her youngest brother Owen and his ice-hockey career. The dynamic and ensuing conflict between them has a great pull on your interest as a reader, and it cemented my addiction to the Christiansen family. Already can't wait for book six when we finally get to Owen's story.

At the heart of this story is a great romance. Jace Jacobsen is the perfect match for Eden, even though neither of them realise it at first. Jace has his own issues with inadequacy, but at his core is a real man who allows God to change his perspective on himself. Quite frankly, Jace Jacobsen is rather irresistible.

As usual, Susan May Warren weaves in a great sub-plot. The mystery of John Doe, and the heartache of Jace's best friend all add to the depth of this great story.

Absolutely beautiful
5 stars By Hannah, Jun 18 2014
I absolutely loved this book! I was captivated by the story and the characters' lives from the first page. The author creates such vivid characters that their heartache jabs you deep in the chest and leaves you crying, while their joy sets your heart to dancing. Loving someone, especially a family member, enough to let them go is something everyone can relate to, along with the pain that comes with it. I learnt so much from Eden during her struggle with this and often found myself forgetting it was fiction as I underlined sections I desperately needed to hear and remember.

Susan May Warren has a gift for interweaving what is already a good story with beautifully vivid images, wisdom to rearrange your life and families you want to pull up a chair beside and laugh with through Sunday lunch. I enjoyed the first book in this series, was utterly captivated by this, the second, and can't wait to cosy up again with the Christiansens in the rest of the series.

Loved it!
4 stars By Rochelle, NSW, May 11 2014
Have been a Susan May Warren fan ever since Team Hope Trilogy. Finished It Had to be You in 2 days and then wanted to read more of a Christiansen Family novel series. Had finished the story before realising the Prequel is at the very back and is Ingrid and Johns story. Sometimes waiting is hard and long but oh so worth it.
Susan May Warren asks an interesting question about How much of our identity is wrapped up in others and the things we do? The story of Eden and her brother Owen is a complex on but as a sister not so hard to relate to. When she begins to get to know Jace Jacobsen she is seeing the side that is not 'marketing' of a hockey Captain but the man.
As a tragic accident hits them they stumble on a mystery that draws them together and reveals a beautiful gift that God has given Eden ... Seeing the one.
There is another story interwoven that is linked through Jace and is heartbreaking in its reality but a stunning picture of God and his plan for those that hang onto faith that He has the best plan for us if we will hold lightly what He gives us.
Read it you'll enjoy it I'm sure
