Paperback

Jesus and the Undoing of Adam is straight from the heart of St. Athanasius and the early Church. In this short but powerful book, Dr. Baxter Kruger takes us back behind the back of Augustine to rethink the work of Jesus Christ in the light of the blessed and glorious doctrine of the Trinity. Dr. Kruger sets forward a stunning vision of the Triune God and articulates a view of Christ's incarnation, life, death, resurrection and ascension that is rigorously consistent with the truth that the Triune God eternally purposed our adoption in Jesus Christ.

"Before there was ever any law, there was the Trinity and the irrepressible life and fellowship and joy of the Triune God. The logic of the universe and of human existence flows out of this relationship. The eternal purpose of this Triune God is not to place us under law and turn us into religious legalists, but to include us in their relationship, to give us a place in their shared life and fellowship and joy. If we must speak in terms of law, then we must say that the law of this universe is the primal decision of the Father, Son and Spirit to give humanity a place in the Trinitarian life. This eternal purpose to adopt humanity, to include us in the Trinitarian circle, predates all things and is the proper framework, or the logic, within which we are to understand creation, the fall of Adam, Israel, the coming of Jesus Christ and his death, resurrection and ascension. There is no other God and no other will of God for humanity. The union forged in Jesus, the exaltation of humanity in him to the right hand of God, is not a divine afterthought; it is the eternal foreword, the one Word of God from the beginning."

An incredible, life-changing, liberating book!
5 stars By Scott, Jan 06 2009
This is the best book in understanding the work of Christ that I have ever read! If you have read "The Shack", then this book is a wonderful compliment that expounds the Trinitarian perspective wonderfully. It is heart-warming, life transforming theology that demystifies the work of Christ and clearly explains what Jesus accomplished for us in non-legal, easy to understand terms. It cuts right to the heart of the gospel and masterfully exposes certain commonly held theological distortions that are present in many schools of evangelical thought today. I could not recommend this book more highly! It changed my life!
