Lead Us Back

Third Day

$19.99

Cd

For the first time in more than a decade, Third Day will release a new worship album, titled Lead Us Back. The highly anticipated album is the third worship recording that the multi-Platinum rock band will have released since the group made their mark on the music industry in 1996 with their self-titled debut smash on Reunion Records, which was certified Gold by the RIAA.

Says vocalist Mac Powell, "We've wanted to do a worship album for quite a while but have been waiting for the right time. NOW is that time! I believe this is the best batch of songs that we have ever recorded!" Bass player Tai Anderson adds, "'Lead Us Back' is a call to worship not just for our audience but the band as well. Why now? We're ready for these songs. We're ready to feel God's spirit fall afresh on all of us again."

The group's previous worship albums, Offerings - A Worship Album in 2000 and Offerings II - All I Have To Give in 2003, have been the two biggest selling albums of the band's career to date. "I think the essence of Third Day music," says drummer David Carr, "has always had a thread of worship to it, whether we've classified an album as worship or not. Though we are confident in the direction we took on previous albums, we felt it was time for us to revisit the emotion and heart that comes through when the songs are unabashedly directed to God."

Third Day, comprised of members Mac Powell, Tai Anderson, David Carr and Mark Lee, during the last two decades, has racked up 30 No. 1 radio singles. The band has sold more than eight million albums, including two RIAA 2x Multi Platinum, five Platinum and 12 Gold certifications. A Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductee (2009), Third Day has garnered four GRAMMY Awards (with 11 career nominations), an American Music Award (with four American Music Award nominations), multiple ASCAP honors (including its coveted Vanguard Award for songwriting), and 24 career GMA Dove Awards (from 42 nominations).

Long known as Christian music's premier live band, the Atlanta-based Third Day has performed for audiences reaching into the millions all around the world. The group has been featured on "The Tonight Show," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," "60 Minutes," ABC's "Nightline," and written about in USA Today, the New York Times and Billboard magazine - a cover story which called Third Day "one of the best rock bands, period."

Meet the Artist

Third Day

Influenced by the Southern rock of Lynyrd Skynyrd and other artists such as U2 and Rich Mullins, Third Day was originally formed by vocalist Mac Powell and acoustic guitarist Mark Lee. The duo added bassist Tai Anderson and drummer David Carr from another local band, and recorded some demos. Third Day's live shows gradually built a loyal fan base, and just after lead guitarist Brad Avery joined, the band signed to Gray Dot Records. Their eponymous debut followed in 1996, with Conspiracy No. 5 appearing a year later. In 1999 Third Day returned with Time, and the next year Offerings, a collection of new and live material, came out, followed in 2003 by its companion, Offerings II: All I Have to Give.

That same year, the American Music Awards tapped them with a nomination in the Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Artist category. For their fifth studio album, 2004's Wire (which was followed shortly after by Live Wire), Third Day returned to their rock and roll roots, a trend they kept up for 2005's Top Ten hit Wherever You Are, which came out in CD/DVD format the next year. ~
