Maple Valley became Amelia Bentley's haven after her heart and her dreams of a family were shattered, but her new life as a newspaper editor is shaken when the paper is bought out by a chain that plans to incorporate it into a regional paper.

After his biggest campaign success yet, speechwriter Logan Walker is approached to work on a presidential campaign. But he already lost his wife three years ago, and saying yes to the job means he'll see his young daughter even less. When Logan hears of a special election campaign in his hometown, helping out sounds like the perfect way to occupy himself while deciding what to do.

When Amelia hears Logan is back in town, she begs him to lend his previous experience in the newspaper world to help turn her paper's numbers around in time. They may butt heads more than they expected, but a lead on a story that could help save the paper is just the start of the sparks that fly in the office and in their hearts.

Absolutely beautiful
5 stars By Hannah, Dec 06 2017
Absolutely loved this book! The main characters, the whole Walker family, the pull-you-in-and-make-you-part-of-the-family small town with its odd but delightful traditions, the challenges the characters face and the way they really work through them and the laugh out loud situations and conversations they have. Melissa Tagg writes the most delightful romances and yet I come away feeling as if God's been teaching me right alongside the characters. Highly, highly recommend to anyone who loves a really well written romance.

a reservation
3 stars By Ibu Guru, Nov 05 2016
The book is well written and interesting, all that the other reviewers have said. My reservation is this: If, as Christians. we really believe in remarriage after divorce, why do our vows not say, " Until death or divorce do us part" ?? To say a married person cannot remain celibate while their spouse who rejected them is still alive is to insult the Christian single person and the power of God. Not every Christian single is single by choice and surely God's grace and power are sufficient to enable us to keep our vows. Amelia is not praying for her ex and it seems like no one else is either. Sad.

Beautiful
5 stars By Jacqueline, Nov 01 2016
Like all Melissa Tagg books, this one does not disappoint. We are taken back to Maple Valley and the Walker family this time to journey further with Logan Walker and his 3yr old daughter, Charlie and also with Amelia, who we also met in the last book. Although this continues the journey of the Walker family you don't have to have read the earlier stories to love this one.
I love the characters, the dynamics, the genuine issues that they each wrestle with, the country town friendship and glue, the whole book. I can't wait for more books in this series.

Loved this one!
5 stars By Rel of Relz Reviewz, Oct 28 2016
There's something about Melissa Tagg's novels that make me smile before I've even cracked open the cover - I just know her books will be a celebration of life, love, and after the necessary conflict, a swoony romantic conclusion will result! Like Never Before creates all those delicious emotions without scrimping on a meaningful portrayal of what it means to put family first, sacrifice your own desires for the sake of another, and stand up for what is right. Logan and Amelia are a fun couple to get to know, Maple Valley enticing, and Tagg's humourous voice, a delight. Christian contemporary romance, even with it's customary HEA, is in good hands with Tagg holding her own with her peers, Denise Hunter and Becky Wade.

Fantastic!
5 stars By Katie Donovan, Jun 30 2016
Book crush alert! I keep going back to re-read my favourite parts and end up getting sucked into the story again. On the face of it, this is a story about a small-town newspaper that's struggling to remain viable. But beneath that, it is a story about how the surprises and obstacles in our path can be an opportunity to let go of our own dreams and discover that God is doing a new thing, replacing them with an even sweeter reality. As rich as the plot is, it is the characters and the writing that give Melissa's books the flavour I have come to savour. The characters are endearingly human; a complex mixture of strengths and weaknesses, humour and sincerity, confidence and insecurity. Her stories are also driven by human interaction - the main characters interact with family, friends, work colleagues, and the general community, rather than dwelling on their own thoughts or simply interacting with each other. And then there's the dialogue. I can honestly say Melissa writes some of the most natural and enjoyable dialogue you'll come across in contemporary fiction. She captures the informality of spoken language perfectly, not to mention the personalities of her characters. If you're after a well-written contemporary romance with heart, soul, and characters that will draw you back again and again, this is the book for you.
