Great idea squandered by poor execution - get the other version
By Steve, Dec 22 2016
The idea of this New Testament (published by Biblica) is to enable reading of the Bible without distractions from chapter and verse numbers (or anything else for that matter). This is great if it results in more of Scripture being read more frequently, and also guards against reading things out of context!! However, a major distraction is the poor quality paper used in this edition. The text size (generous) and spacing (could be better) is decent enough to enable sustained reading, but the paper is too thin and transparent which means that the reader is distracted from the ink on the other side of the page. The other edition of The Books of the Bible New Testament published by Hodder and Stoughton is much better in this regard (and is half the price!). Get the other one.
The New Testament - no distractions.

The 'Books of the Bible New Testment' NIV bible is the new testament that has the text on the page as if you were reading a novel. There are no columns, verse markers, citations or anything like that like you would see in contemporary bibles. It's for the reader that just wants to read and not be distracted by anything. The only criticism I can give is that the pages are paper-thin and I really think need more of a paperback novel feel to them to make the book more appealing as the pages can tear easily.
