Great for teenagers, some visual depictions might not be suitable for primary age children (cruxifiction etc). But great way to engage young audience. Not all parts of the book are manga (cartoon) though, has Bible verse pages mostly. Wish it had more manga parts.
I love this bible. The manga bible has some manga illustrations and it's fun to read. The bible is very light and thin. The text is quite small as well.
This 'Manga Bible' is great for teenagers. Manga is a Japanese word for comic books and so this 'Manga Bible' is basically a comic version of the bible. I think this is appeal in particular to teenagers as it is a new way to present bible stories in a fun and illustrative way. The drawings are well done and Jesus looks like a Japanese comic character. A new fun way to read the bible. I also quite like that you still get the full text of the NLT bible.
Sturdiness: I agree with the other comment that this Bible has fairly thin pages and it is only a paperback so it is not the most sturdy book. Having said that though, the pages are as thin as many bibles today and the comic pages are thicker. I've had it a few weeks now and it still looks like new, (This included putting it into a backpack for an overnight stay). Also, on the positive side, it is compact and lightweight and comes with a cardboard slip (a rectangular-prism sleeve), useful for keeping it in good condition. Comic: The comic tells the bible story from Genesis to the end of the gospels over about 90 pages. These Manga comic sections are split into three equal sections spaced throughout the bible (1st section in 2 Samuel, 2nd in Isaiah and 3rd in Luke). The pages are full colour and also refer to the verses in the bible where you can read the story behind the comic. These are high quality Manga comics. The Bible: I usually read a NIV bible but I am loving the NLT in this bible. I'm finding it very fresh. The bible contains basic notes and cross-references as well as a dictionaryconcordance, 'great chapters of the bible', 'great verses to memorise', a 365 day reading plan and information about the NLT. Pretty impressive for a compact bible. There is also a space at the front saying who this bible is presented to and by whom and on what date- so a good bible to give away. Overall: In conclusion, this is a great bible and I recommend it to anybody that likes the idea of it and likes the cover. It is a very stylish bible that would make a great gift for teenageyoung adult males (to be stereotypical). I bought them as a gift my youth kids but liked it so much I kept one myself.
It took me by surprise when I first look at the cover. A real japanese comic lookalike bible! Wouw, I find it very creative that spreading the words(Bible) doesn't have to be dull and boring in presentation. People can actually choose which type of bible book look that suits their styles, tastes, or personalities. This one suits me best, so I bought it. One thing I kind of disappointed is the "thin" ness of the paper stock. It can be done a little bit better without hurting much of the thickness. You have to be extra careful when folding, streaking, flipping the pages or it might get torn. Not sure if in the long term it would look not much different when it's new.
