About "One Thousand Gifts (Unabridged, 7 Cds)"
What it means to be ... deeply human ... deeply spiritual ... deeply and authentically fulfilledLike most listeners, Ann Voskamp hungers to live her one life well. Forget the bucket lists about once-in-a-lifetime experiences. "How," Voskamp wondered, "do we find joy in the midst of deadlines, debt, drama, and daily duties? What does a life of gratitude look like when your days are gritty, long, and sometimes dark? What is God providing here and now?"A beautifully practical guide to living a life of joy, One Thousand Gifts invites you to wake up to God#146;s everyday blessings. As Voskamp discovered, in giving thanks for the life she already had, she found the life she#146;d always wanted.Following Voskamp#146;s grace-bathed reflections on her farming, parenting, and writing life, you will embark on a transformative spiritual discipline of chronicling gifts. Along the way, you will discover a way of seeing that opens your eyes to gratitude, a way of living so you are not afraid to die, and a way of becoming present to God#146;s presence that brings deep and lasting happiness.

This book is encouraging, as the author writes about her own experience of grief, and how she overcomes it by starting to see God's blessings every day. She demonstrates how God gives us blessings, even through the most difficult times. The book helped me to recognise my own personal blessings, that I usually take for granted.
This book was recommended to me numerous times so I bought the book. The writing was excellent and very poetic, but just not my style I prefer. It draws out a lot of her inner thoughts and emotions. I prefer a very practical and straight to the point type of writing, so it wasn't really my style. I'm sure the book is beautiful :) as many others who recommended me do love this book!
i ordeted the large ptint so j could see it better live the storiex by Beth Moore
A great read. Written in the most profound way, Ann shows us we can thank God even in the most difficult moments. Ann speaks from her own painful experiences as a child which caused her chronic anxiety. She says "We can count the ways He loves us" - even in the midst of pain if only we look for it! With my journal open I started writing them one by one....more than a thousand now and still counting. This book has changed my life from the inside out. I was able to see more clearly even in the pain... God is bringing "life" from it. I have bought many copies to give away to friends to encourage them in their difficult circumstance and their walk with God.
My heart sings when I read Voskamp's words. Her heart is laced so intricately with the Father's. His love and grace is manifest in her work. You will read this and feel nourished. The poetic writing will immerse you into the beauty and wonder of the everyday - how God is interwoven into all that we do and how our thoughts can be infused with a thankfulness and thanksgiving that transcends all the troubles of the world. A truly beautiful read and incredible gift to share with others!
