Tom Wright has completed a tremendous task: to provide comprehensive guides to all the books of the New Testament, and to furnish them with his own fresh translation of the entire text. This volume is part of The New Testament for Everyone commentary series written by Tom Wright, Research Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at the University of St. Andrews and retired Anglican bishop. As with his other volumes, Wright provides a fresh translation of the pastoral epistles. On every passage that he comments on, he also furnishes his reflections and insights. These are certainly based on his biblical scholarship as well as his extensive ministry and life experiences. In this volume as well as the entire series, Wright not only helps the biblical students to understand and apply the message of the biblical books, he also models for pastors what it means to be a pastor-theologian who studies and writes in the service of the church.
