P.O.D.'s New Sound
4 stars By Dave , Apr 18 2008
P.O.D.'s fifth full length studio album, the self titled "Payable On Death" strays away from their early defining work, the 2001 "Satelite", and 1999 "Fundamental Elements of Southtown". These previous albums set up P.O.D. as Rock/Metal band with emotive lyrics and heavy riffs, "Alive", "Southtown",. In "Payable On Death" P.O.D. branches into a melodic genre of rock/metal with new guitarist Jason Truby, the vocal's are sweet, but still carry the same elements as we've heard in Satelite. It's a great new sound P.O.D. have meshed together to redifine themselves and set off in a new direction from their previous albums.

But through this transition P.O.D.'s message and faith still take the same strong stance they have always dispalyed. Straight from the first song "Wildfire" is talking about how they love to feel the holy spirt moving inside them making them grow. This album set's the stage for their 2006 album "Testify" which is another fantastic album by P.O.D.

This album is just a fantastic display of P.O.D.'s talents both Musically and lyrically showing heartfelt disire to spread God's word to everyone through their. A must have for any P.O.D. fan or anyone who is into Rock/NuMetal, or anyone looking for a great album.
