Incredible Story
5 stars By Brooke, Aug 20 2012
Paula Vince has created an incredibly moving story of two characters brought to rock bottom. An amazing tale of forgiveness, grace and redemptive love. Paula has dealt with some very heavy issues in this book and has definitely done them justice. She has created relatable characters that you connect with from the start and empathise with all the way through. Definitely not light reading, but an incredibly touching story that communicates important truths. A must read.

Great job
4 stars By Melanie Carter Winkler, Jul 11 2012
The blurb had me reaching for my wallet. I wanted to know what Claire and Blake were going to go through.

I felt anguish at the issues that faced them. I felt the peace as they accepted the past. I felt pleasure as they triumphed over it all.

It was wonderful how God can bring good from a bad situation.

A hard subject matter, covered with care and sensitivity. A great read.

A Must Read
5 stars By Rose Dee, Jun 10 2012
This was a very different read for me. I started out thinking that the subject matter was a bit heavy, but the characters are depicted in such a relatable way that I found myself sympathising with each complex situation. It was incredible. Paula Vince does an amazing job of drawing you into each heartbreaking predicament, as well as portraying the power of love and forgiveness.

Lingering Characters
5 stars By Dale , Feb 28 2011
In Picking up The Pieces Paula has tackled some complex and emotional issues. How to forgive someone who has done something so vile it haunts you? Is it even possible? And what of the families of the two young people whose lives take a sudden and dramatic turn one fateful night?

Claire Parker and Blake Quinlan are characters you won?t forget in a hurry, as they each struggle to come to terms with the aftermath of one evening. This is a story about choices and consequences. It shows how the choices one person makes, affect not just themselves but those closest to them.

I became involved quickly in the story of Claire Parker and Blake Quinlan and their families and regretted each time I had to put the book down to do something else.

A well written novel with a fast moving plot, it is the characters that will stay with you long after the final page is closed. This is a book to make you think.

This is the first of Paula Vince?s books I have read. I am sure it will not be the last.

Lose youself in this book!
5 stars By Janet, Oct 29 2010
I'm a big fan of Paula Vince's, and her novel Picking up the Pieces didn't disappoint. It is so refreshing to read about Aussie characters in an Aussie setting - I don't know about anybody else but I am just over Amish and prairie novels! It is great to read contemporary fiction.

Your heart will ache for the tragedies and trials the main characters endure, but by the end of the book you will be rejoicing with them. A jolly good read!
