Paperback

Messages about sex are everywhere. Social media, movies, magazines and billboards bombard us with rapidly changing cultural standards about sexuality.

And while this sex-obsessed world urges us to consume, explore and define ourselves by our sexuality, the Bible has a better message. Sexuality is a gift.

There is a more fulfilling way to enjoy this good gift. Pure Love deals openly, honestly and biblically with the core sexual issues of today: Singleness, Homosexuality, Modesty, Pornography, Dating and Masturbation.

Confident in the grace and hope of the gospel, this book shows how you can live free from the slavery of sexual pressure and pursue a love that's truly pure.

Excellent, readable, gospel-centred book on important issues
5 stars By MatthewT, Jan 15 2016
The authors practically discuss a number of issues related to sexuality through a gospel perspective.

One strength of the book is the range of issues discussed. Other books cover individual topics in greater depth, however the strength of this book is the condensed, but comprehensive, coverage it offers on the wide range of topics. Topics, including modesty and masturbation, are discussed with frankness, but without unhelpful crude language.

Whilst readers may not agree with all of the conclusions the authors present their views well, and with biblical support, so will at least cause the reader to consider their perspective.

Sensitive (and controversial) topics, for example singleness and homosexuality, are addressed with biblical wisdom and love.

Another strength of the book is the high view of sexuality. Rather than seeing sex and sexuality negatively, the authors see sex within God's design (traditional marriage) as beautiful and precious.

Helpfully, the author present plenty of practical application throughout each section. The authors are Australian, which is helpful to place issues (e.g. dating) within this local context, rather than an overseas cultural understanding.

The final chapter on how the gospel has changed us and continues to change us is excellent and a refreshing reminder of the ministry of Christ. This book is definitely recommended for youth and young adults. It would also be of benefit to parents and grandparents who are seeking to better understand the issues facing young people in this culture.
