Meet the Author

David Bartlett

Dr. David L Bartlett (Ph.D., Yale University) is Professor of New Testament at Columbia Theological Seminary, previously serving at Yale Divinity School, where he was dean of academic affairs and Lantz Professor of Preaching and Communication.

His latest book, What's Good About This News? Preaching from the Gospels and Galatians, explores how to reconcile the biblical texts message to our contemporary context and a particular congregations character and need. A collection of his sermons,To the Beloved in New Haven: David Bartlett's Yale Sermons, edited by Yale divinity student Ian Doescher

He has also written Romans (Westminster Bible Companion); Fact and Faith: Coming to Grips with Miracles in the New Testament; co-editor with Barbara Taylor Brown of the three volumes Feasting on the Word: Preaching the Revised Common Lectionary.
