A beautiful example of courage, strength and endurance in the pursuit of truth.
5 stars By Danielle, Oct 03 2017
This book truly has the capacity to be life-changing. By not only giving the reader a greater insight into the beautiful top layer of Islam, it explores the sadness of the truths that even many Muslim believers aren't aware of. Nabeel's true heart for God and his passion to seek, pursue and commit to the truth of the gospel despite the incredible cost is described in academically articulate, yet intensely personal detail.

The reading of this book is bittersweet for me, however, as I discovered just days after opening the first page not only has Nabeel taken the final journey home to our Heavenly Father, but he did so on virtually the same day I started reading it's opening pages. It has spurred me to order another of Nabeel's books, 'Answering Jihad' and has triggered something within me that I don't yet understand.

If you are interested in Christian apologetics, want to learn more about the Islamic faith or just seek courage and inspiration, this book is potentially what you're looking for.

Food for thought
5 stars By Seaton , Sep 26 2017
"Seeking Allah, finding Jesus" is a brilliant book that describes the battle modern Muslims face when it comes to Christianity. This is a must read for anyone who doubts in the existence of God or questions the beliefs of Christians.

Enthralling
5 stars By Derek Davey, Aug 10 2017
Nabeel tells the story of his devout Muslim family, the product of Muslim missionaries. Born of Pakistani parents with Urdu language, the family moved to the USA where Nabeel was born. He relates the rather intensive oral learning of the Quran, and later apologetics. He was devout and even acted in a missionary way at school and university. Most of the book is taken up after he meets a Christian with whom he becomes a friend and sparring partner over the relative merits of the belief systems. Crises arise when he needed to search documents such as the Bible, Quran, and Hadiths, to justify initially criticism of Christianity, and then support Islam. He was found wanting. The oral learning he had from his parents and imams was not backed up by original documents. He had nothing to stand on. He deals a little with the honour-shame culture and links that to family and community authority figures, a new understanding for me. And these could not back up what they had taught him. Questioning is frowned on. I was also surprised at the lack of the studying of the original documents in Islam. It is common knowledge that the Quran is memorised in its original text, and thus few ever understand it. (It is verbal learning in a foreign language.) A translation-commentary is required required reading. The Quran and Hadiths contain the seeds of their own destruction. Nabeel accepted The Truth, and lost his family.

Insightful
4 stars By Rajendra, May 31 2017
Nabeel first caught my attention when sharing the stage with Ravi Zacharias. I was enthralled to review this title - it captures you from start to finish. I found it most helpful to understand the mindset and culture of your average devout Muslim. His writing style is thoughtful, thorough and research - just like you would expect from someone raised in Islam. Thank God for this wonderful conversion!

Informing
5 stars By Christian Reviewer, Apr 25 2017
This book informed me greatly on the struggles that Muslims have when leaving their faith and about life as a Muslim. When I first started reading it I was a little skeptical because it seemed to glorify Islam. However, I later read that was how Nabeel actually viewed and enjoyed his younger years. Throughout the book, Nabeel engages with his best friend David Wood in discussing Christianity. On a side note, the book encourages the readers to view David's testimony and apologetic channel on YouTube. Having now seen some of those videos, Nabeel would have had a very interesting time discussing his faith with David. I strongly recommend this book.
