Bestselling author, speaker, and founder of the Secret Keeper Girl conferences, Dannah Gresh shares with mums the secret to helping today's girls grow up confident, grace-filled, and strong in their faith. Studies show that the foundation for an emotionally healthy teen girl is built between the ages of 8-12 and that a good relationship with mum is one of the most important factors. So when the world wants girls to grow up too fast, how does a mother help her young daughter navigate the stormy waters of boy-craziness, modesty and body image, media, Internet safety, and more? With a warm, transparent style, Dannah Gresh shares six ways a mum can help protect and guide her daughter, including:
- help her celebrate her body in a healthy way
- unbrand her when the world tries to buy and sell her
- unplug her from a plugged-in world
- dream with her about her prince, and more.

This wonderful resource also provides mums with a Connection IQ Inventory to test their mum-daughter relationship, creative and fun activities to do together, and Scriptures for the mum to pray for her daughter.

Meet the Author

Dannah Gresh

Dannah Gresh, a mother/daughter communication coach, has sold well over three quarters of a million copies of her books including And the Bride Wore White and 2008's best-selling CBA youth book, Lies Young Women Believe (coauthored with Nancy Leigh DeMoss) - making her one of the most successful Christian authors targeting teens and preteens.

With the belief that today's culture has been seeking to rob little girls of their innocence, Dannah has been fighting on the front lines to protect them. Her fun line of Secret Keeper Girl mom/preteen daughter connecting resources and live events that tour the country provide moms with just the right tools to fight back.

She has long been at the forefront of the movement to encourage both tweens and teens to pursue purity and is often called upon to defend the conservative position of abstinence in national news media like USA Today, Time, Chicago Tribune, and Women's Wear Daily. She is also a frequent contributor to FamilyLife Today, Midday Connection, and Focus on the Family.

Dannah lives in State College, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Bob, and their children, Robby, Lexi, and Autumn, whom the family adopted from China in 2007. She and her husband founded Grace Prep, a new model in Christian high school education, which Bob administrates. She is shamelessly in love with her labradoodle, Stormie. (DannahGresh.com)

Interesting Read
3 stars By Linda, Apr 04 2018
Interesting read. This book did have some good points for example she says to make time for your children and be there to hear them out. She does touch on a lot of topics that need to be discussed with daughters at different ages. Some things I didn't find very helpful but that's ok! I would recommend it as there were definitely some helpful tips in there.

If you have a daughter you need to read this!
5 stars By Renee, Jul 06 2012
As a mum of 4 girls, I got so much positive encouragement from this book! It has really great practical ideas that you can implement with your daughters NOW (at any young age)- not just when they are struggling with social and cultural issues in the difficult teenage years. It also affirmed the positive things I am already doing in building relationships with my girls to weather the teeenage years ahead. I loved the authors humour and positive attitude as well as her own gentle acknowledgment of her (and all of our..) imperfections as a mother and role model. I am so glad I found this book, and am eagerly passing it on to friends. Thanks to Dannah Gresh for being a godly support to mums who want the best for their girls- despite the influences of todays world.

A MUST read for parents with children aged 8 - 12
5 stars By Nicky Schultz, Feb 16 2011
This book captured my eye and once I opened it - I was SOLD. Practical, insigightful and full of tips, hints & ideas.
Very easy to read, has testimonies and questions from parents asking the same questions we are, sharing the same struggles.
This book counteracts the image the 'media' wants our daughters to become.
Highly recommended

What a blessing!
5 stars By Tania, Dec 12 2010
This book came as an answer to prayer! I was wondering how to parent this next stage in my daughter, with the new challenges a "tween" experiences and as a Mother the best way to discipline, guide, direct and encourage - in love!!
I have not finished reading it yet, but already it has given me tools and ideas I look forward to using and putting into place.

A must read for any Mum with a daughter aged 8-12 years of age.
