Fitting conclusion to brilliant series
5 stars By Kamya Foster, Apr 08 2017
Whilst able to be read as a stand alone novel, don't deprive yourselves of starting first with "Flight of the Earls" then "In Golden Splendor" in this gripping family saga. In "Songs of the Shenadoah" brothers Seamus and Davin find themselves fighting on opposite sides of the American Civil War. Reynolds' prose continued to engage and be a captivating read, in spite of the heaviness of the setting and brutalities written of. Unexpected twists continue and this time Davin seeks to find his true self, Seamus rises to his full potential honouring the calling God has for is life and Clare stands firm in her faith and conviction. All face costs but then know the ultimate joy of seeking God and righteousness. This was indeed a satisfying conclusion to the family saga which lovers of historical Christian fiction (with the thread of beautiful honouring romance) will enjoy.
