Paperback
Do you experience ON-AGAIN OFF-AGAIN Spirituality?

^"How is it that I can be consistently experiencing the presence of God, sensing His love, and feeling the power of the Spirit, and then all of a suddennothing? I continue the same practices I was doing in prayer and devotion, but with entirely different results. There is no sense of God's presence, only dryness in the Scriptures and hollowness in prayer."

^"Many of us have felt mired in busyness, the pain of our past, apathy toward God, phoniness in prayer, our own self-absorption, or in a general feeling of lostness in our spiritual life," writes Howard Baker. However, he goes on to say that these "desert times" occur for a reason. They give you a thirst for the living water that only God can provide and allow you to experience the futility of losing your soul to this world, so that you will get serious about keeping it to life eternal.

^^"Soul keeping" is a metaphor for living a fulfilling, passionate life in Christ. In this book you'll rediscover life in the kingdom of God as practiced by saints and martyrs, prophets and psalmists. The paths they walked are for the weary and worn-out, the bruised and battered, the disillusioned and despairing, the hurting and the hopeless.

^^If you're struggling in your spiritual life and searching for renewed passion for God, the paths described in Soul Keeping will provide rest for your soul as you richly experience God and His presence. "Ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls." Jeremiah 6:16 (NIV)

- Publisher Howard Baker introduces the concepts of classic "spiritual direction" through a balanced look at the means and barriers of living a directed life centered in God's Word and will.

- Publisher Howard Baker has written Soul Keeping to introduce the reader to a number of the time-honored "spiritual paths" practiced by masters of Christian spirituality. He writes for the person who wants to grow in character and maintain a tried and true path.
