MEMORABLE STORY
5 stars By Ruth , Feb 26 2016
This is a book you won't forget in a hurry! Henry is a dog who turns his family's life upside down and presents the writer with the greatest challenge she's ever had to her patience, endurance and standards of unconditional love. Indeed, more than once, when she's near her wit's end, it's the message she would be sending to her children, that stops her returning Henry to his breeder. Henry is like a child with extreme behavioural issues. He resists even intense training methods with every fibre of his being. While possessing classic boxer beauty and a charismatic personality, attracting admiration wherever he goes, he is also aloof, failing to engage personally with his family; even choosing on many occasions to be in another room, alone - after he has failed to have his usually full-on, intense demands met. Yet the two boys love and pray for him. It's the mother of the family who really struggles to even like, let alone love him. Yet she perseveres courageously and admirably with his training; always the epitome of kindness and devotion to this reprobate canine family member. It will be far longer than average before her endurance begins to reap dividends. Although Henry will probably always have some issues, he will eventually begin to become a beloved family pet. The story, not surprisingly, is filled with Henry's outrageous feats of mischief and mayhem.
