New mums and dads always have the same reaction: "I had no idea it would be this hard!" But you can make it a little easier - and a lot more rewarding - simply by following these ten commandments. If you're feeling overwhelmed by it all, if your kids are headed in the wrong direction, or you just need a refresher of what matters most, this could be the turning point you've been praying for. And if you're a brand new parent, you'll thank God for an opportunity to build your child's character on solid ground.

In clear, simple, and sometimes humorous terms, Ed Young draws from decades of counselling and raising his own children to help you create a biblical foundation for life's greatest challenge and most important calling. The 10 Commandments of Parenting includes:

5 stars By Karen, Jul 26 2013
I would thoroughly recommend this title. There are some very helpful insights into avoiding some of the common pitfalls of parenting, based on age-old Biblical principles of teaching children to respect others and themselves, obey authority and get along with people, whilst understanding that they are loved, cared about and called for a purpose.
Whilst the book essentially contains nothing new (after thousands of years of 'parenting' being in existence, how could it?!), sometimes we all need a solid reminder of where we are headed with our children and why, and in a nutshell, I think this book does a very good job of that.
