The Captive Maiden is a beautiful story about finding true love and trusting God with your heart. Join Gisela and Valten in an epic tale of love, drama and action. Any teen girl who loves romance will enjoy this book!
A beautiful, light-hearted story filled with romance and courage! Valten's gentleness and fierceness for Gisela was breathtakingly sweet. It was great to see God's hand in all of the happenings that seemed to spiral out of control. Would highly recommend this for all ages!
This was the first book I bought by Melanie Dickerson and now I've bought seven more! And although they are all absolutely amazing I still find myself reading Captive Maiden over and over again more than the others. Why? Because it's simply wonderful! With the brave maidens, sacrificial knights, the scarf of bright blue silk, a fight for a pretty damsel and an cunning villain are all threaded into the story with such captivating chapters that you will not be able to put down the book till you've read it thoroughly from cover to blurb!
The Queen of Beauty and love is here! Valten can win battles and tournaments, but can he win a maiden's heart? Gisela longs for real love, but is her longing enough for her dream prince to arrive? Together, Gisela and Valten face their own identity and future. So don't let the slipper, slip you in understanding your destiny! It's a MUST READ!
I work in a school library so am always on the lookout for quality Christian fiction that the students might enjoy. With this book I seem to have found a novel which both teenagers and adults enjoy. The retelling of fairytales is fairly common these days but I really enjoyed Melanie Dickerson's take on the Cinderella classic. The characters were well written and the storyline had just enough similarities and differences to keep the reader engaged.
