Each of these large-format board books includes a very short and simple retelling of a popular Bible story with an animal as a key character. (The star is a 'jigsaw' board piece (securely attached to the book by a ribbon) who can be moved through the story to fit in a recess on each spread. The jigsaw recess is in a different place on each spread and does not always face the same way (the piece is printed on both sides). These are the first two titles in a 4-book series. Noah's Dog and The Lost Sheep are planned for April 2009)

The Christmas star has a very important job to do. High in the sky, it must help lead the wise men and the shepherds to the manger--and to a special surprise This short and simple retelling of the Nativity story features a die-cut star that young readers can place right into the story on each new page.

The Christmas Star
3 stars By Angelo, Feb 26 2015
Interesting and simple version of the Christmas story, focussing particularly on the Wise men. Great for young children, with only ~2 sentences to a page. Intricate and detailed illustrations. Transferring the star from page to page gives continuity to the story, however we have found this becomes really frustrating for our toddler, as the star must be orientated in one particular way to fit into each page (not quite a perfect star shape).
