About "The Game"
Mr Jonathon Fordham, the most eligible bachelor in Sydney and heir to a noble title in England, treats matters of the heart like a game. Living in the newly forged Australian Colony in 1844, Jack Fordham buries his past beneath an indifferent facade. In spite of his rakish reputation, Jack's dashing smile and suave flattery would melt any woman's heart. Any that is, it seems, except for Miss Margaret Wingrove. The beautiful governess is strangely unmoved by the nonpareil's many attractions, nor his beguiling charm. When Meg does not fall into his arms as he presumes she will, his game of pursuit begins in earnest. As Meg continues to resist his advances, Jack's determination to win her intensifies. But can he risk exposing his true heart to find the love he desires before his game unravels? And can he embrace, or will he simply deny the obstacle which stands between them her faith?

This is a historical romance novel set in the 1800s in Australia. The characters are genuinely likeable and the story progresses to a Rom-com. A really enjoyable read and the book has really strong Christian values where it revolves around the characters' faith in God and how they deal with their challenges when they are torn between their will and God's will.
Amanda Deed has created a romantic, historical book that is extremely hard to put down. I loved it from the very first chapter. Amanda is an Australian Author and has set her book in Australia in 1844. There are twists and turns that take you on a roller coast of emotions. I fell in love with Jack (one of the main characters) even though I got frustrated with his attitude to God.Does he change his mind? You'll have to read the book to find out. My Daughter in law loved the book so much that she is now buying three more copies to give to her non christian friends. This book is totally unashamedly christian, without being pushy. I love it and would recommend it to everyone.
