:

The one who needs rescuing isn't always the one in the tower.

Rapunzel can throw a knife better than any man around. And her skills as an artist rival those of any artist she's met. But for a woman in medieval times, the one skill she most desires is the hardest one to obtain: the ability to read.

After yet another young man asks for Rapunzel's hand in marriage, Mother decides they need to move once again, but this time to a larger city. Rapunzel's heart soars-surely there she can fulfill her dream. But Mother won't let her close to a man. She claims that no man can be trusted.

After being rescued by a knight on the road to the city, and in turn rescuing him farther down the road, Rapunzel's opportunity arrives at last. This knight, Sir Gerek, agrees to educate Rapunzel in order to pay back his debt. She just has to put up with his arrogant nature and single-minded focus on riches and prestige.

But this Rapunzel story is unlike any other and the mystery that she uncovers will change everything-except her happily ever after.

A beautifully woven tale!
5 stars By Mezza, Dec 25 2017
Loved, loved, loved this fabulous tale by Dickerson! It was the best re-telling of Rapunzel I've ever read, and I thoroughly enjoyed all the twists and turns along the way. I was pleasantly surprised by the sudden plot changes that happened along the way. I have always loved the medieval times, and this book has incorporated the feel of those times quite well. It was also very exciting to see how the other books were woven together with this one. This book is enjoyable as a stand-alone book, but if you read the whole series, it makes it even better. Would recommend this book for those who like medieval times, and a good sweet romance, with a bit of adventure along the way!

Captivating fairytale
5 stars By Jacqui, Sep 05 2017
I thought that since this was based on the fairy-tale; Rapunzel it would be predictable. I was so wrong. I was held captive and on edge the whole story. It made me feel as though I was living in the middle ages with knights and castles and evil people and schemes yet there was a purity and light that kept coming through. There was the extra bonus towards the end of the story where we meet up with some of the characters from the previous books in this series too.

Elsebeth, the duke's dead daughter drowned 17 years ago. But did she really die? Rapunzel has been told to stay away from men. But how could she stay away she had found the knight of her dreams? Gerek had a terrible childhood, no fortune and a broken arm and leg. But his whole life changes when he mets brave Rapunzel. Could he risk marrying her? Read this book!

The tale of the stolen
5 stars By Joy, Aug 23 2017
This story was brilliant, shocking and unexpected! Especially when I found out she was stolen, trapped and fell in love! It is truly the best and most amazing book I've read because surprise is around every corner! Not a single paragraph is even a teeny bit boring!

Too Long Winded
3 stars By Charissa, Jan 07 2017
This book started off interesting and had the elements of the classic fairy tale Rapunzel (minus the tower) but soon became too long winded. The last few chapters could have been omitted in my opinion as the protaganist did not actually have to be locked in a tower to enhance the story. It was enough that Rapunzel's mother is reluctant to let her marry and so Rapunzel takes her future into her own hands. The strength of this story is how it ties up the loose ends from the other fairy tale stories written by this author even though the outcome of this book was predictable as well. Written in the same style as Dickerson's other books in this series, it will be a good read for those who like Dickerson's style.
