A must for genuine fiction lovers
5 stars By Christine, Jul 18 2017
I first read this book 20 years ago and it started me on a path to reading Christian fiction that I have never left, And since reading it for the first time 20 years ago, I have probably read it 20 times and am now on my second copy as my first one fell apart. Lori Wick has made characters in the book, Brandon and Sunny come alive in a special and unique way, Her attention to giving details about every aspect of their lives without making it boring or monotanous, is really amazing. The book tackles so many different issues, including teaching people how to lead others to Christ but all wrapped up in an amazing story about 2 special people. If i had to list my top fiction book ever this would be it. If you haven't read it, do yourself a favour and get it today - you won't be dissapointed

Tha Hawk and the Jewel
5 stars By Lindy Anning, Sep 15 2012
This book is the first in a four-book series by Lori Wick. Set in Victorian England, this story follows Shari, a wild and willful child in an Arabian harem, as she gets her wish to see an English ship. Once aboard, however, things go terribly wrong and Shari finds out she is actually Sunny Gallagher, a titled Englishwoman who was lost at sea as a child and is now on her way to England to meet her family and begin a very foreign new life.

Sunny is a captivating, stubborn, risk-taking character who says what she is thinking - and in Victorian England this is a novelty which gets her into a lot of trouble. As she grows and becomes closer with the dashing Lord Brandon Hawkesbury, Sunny finds herself in very real danger and must decide who to trust as she tries to unlock the secrets surrounding her.

This was my first Lori Wick series and is still one of my favourite books. The characters are intriguing and unpredictable, the story line fast paced and intriguing, and the historical culture and customs enlightening.

For lovers of a good romance novel, covering a couple of great love stories, this book is for you!
