Julia Bernal has come to London to become a Doctor. She was in a hurry to get to a lecture and sneaks onto a carriage above her class. It puts her in the position to save a young barrister Michael Stephenson. Later she finds out he's involved in a legal case that could destroy her future as a Doctor, a dream she's held for a long time.
Hard work and a skill for the Law has allowed Michael to regain the path to wealth and recognition.
He's supposed to be objective in the debate over the future of Women in Medical School.
Julia is determined to see that Michael is recovering and that the Dr has treated him correctly.
She also needs help with Latin and so a deal is struck between them that causes Michael to question what's most important in his life.
Attraction sparks and goals are meant to be reached. Are they able to reach their own goals? Can they achieve their goals and have a future together?
A historical romance that is a lovely read.
