About "The Holiness of God: The Character of God Which Defines All We Are & Do"

An intrepid exploration of a topic that is often neglected today - the awesome reality of God's holy nature, the wellspring of all that we believe and do as Christians.
- Koorong

:Central to God's character is the quality of holiness. Yet, even so, most people are hard-pressed to define what God's holiness precisely is. Many preachers today avoid the topic altogether because people today don?t quite know what to do with words like ?awe? or ?fear.? R. C. Sproul, in this classic work, puts the holiness of God in its proper and central place in the Christian life. He paints an awe-inspiring vision of God that encourages Christian to become holy just as God is holy. Once you encounter the holiness of God, your life will never be the same.

Essential For Every Christian
5 stars By Luke R, Oct 29 2018
Sproul has the great ability of boiling down important biblical truths and making them accessible to the simple man. This book fills you with awe and causes you to reassess how you approach God. I would recommend this to every believer from every background to understand this important truth.

Great build up that fell flat
3 stars By Rory, May 26 2017
I like RC Sproul and his faithful commitment to Biblical, gospel centred Christianity. The bulk of this book was excellent, and he explains God's holiness in a compelling way which was greatly encouraging and challenging. But this book left me feeling flat. The last chapter, in seemingly summing up the rest of the book, focused on the sacredness of a physical place and was empty of the glory of Christ in us- by his spirit not by bricks and mortar! "Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person; for God's temple is sacred, and you together are that temple." 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

What is rarely addressed in churches is tackled in this book
5 stars By Richard, Jun 04 2016
This book addresses the parts of Gods character that are often avoided in Christian sermons and literature. It deals with situations in the Old Testament where Gods wrath and killing of what we consider innocent people is addressed head on. Through this book my respect and understanding of Gods character has increased giving me a healthy fear of our God of justice but at the same time an increased love for our God of grace and mercy. A must read...
