5 stars By Eric, Feb 24 2017
The bible not only tells us how to live a life that is pleasing to God but also is a history of the world with the focus being on God's chosen people and their triumphs and tribulations. War - both physical and spiritual - was and is an ever present constant for mankind to deal with due to sin.
This book is a fantastic little resource that in full color gives a context to every battle in the bible we can read about and some others that occurred that are either alluded to or not mentioned.
The book manages to take each battle and in only a couple of pages show the reader where it took place, what the background was behind it, who fought and why and what we today can learn from these battles.
I say buy two copies because you will be so enamoured with the book that you'll want to give a copy to someone you love or you'll soon wear out your copy by constantly referring to this little gem of a book which is brilliantly illustrated.
What impressed me most about this book is the layout as at a glance you get a small map on the page amongst another illustration and text so that each battle is confined to the pages you're on and you don't need to flip back and forth to find out where it happened. Highly Recommended.
