The Ministry of a Messy House

The Ministry of a Messy House

Amanda Robbie

$16.99

PB Large Format

Messy is OK, even in a world gone mad with perfectionism. The author looks at 'messy' in the context of home, family, children, church, community, meals and celebrations. As someone who has lived in eight homes in four cities and one town, spread across three countries, in the course of her married life, she has had to reassess her priorities regularly and work out what really matters in life.

From studying the Scriptures, Amanda has discovered that it's God's grace that matters, not our flawless performance or impressive presentation. In fact - dare we say it? - it's OK to do things imperfectly and even fail. Yes, honestly.

This book will lift the burden of guilt from your sagging shoulders. It will free you up to enjoy serving God, imperfectly by this world's standards, but in a way that pleases our heavenly Father.

Encouraging Messies
5 stars By Robyn Hanstock, Jul 30 2016
A house looking like a magazine promotion is definitely not me, so I found Amanda Robbie's book enormously encouraging. Since reading it I have determined to start opening up my home and inviting friends and family around instead of hiding away in shame that I cannot keep up with my houseproud friends and family members. Even the subtitle, Grace in Place of Guilt, was a prod to start seeing hospitality is possible for me.
As a busy vicar's wife as well as a mother and a writer Amanda Robbie injects commonsense and wisdom into every inspiring chapter, and her love for God and for people shines, with a heart for making Gospel opportunities in every circumstance. I was more than impressed and inspired to take action in making my home a blessing in ways I had not thought of before reading Amanda Robbie's book. Even people with picture-perfect tidy homes will find lots of ideas for family and community blessing in these chapters. Recommended!
