Meet the Authors

Martin Dibelius

Martin Dibelius (1883-1947) was professor of New Testament at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and one of the most important biblical scholars of the twentieth century. Among his many publications in English are From Tradition to Gospel (1934), Gospel Criticism and Christology (1935), A Fresh Approach to the New Testament and Early Christian Literature (1936), The Sermon on the Mount (1940), Jesus (1949), Paul (1953), The Pastoral Epistles (Hermeneia; Fortress Press, 1972), and James (Hermeneia; Fortress Press, 1976).

Hans Conzelmann

At the time of his death, Hans Conzelmann was Professor Emeritus of New Testament at the University of Gottingen and was known worldwide for his insightful and challenging scholarship.
