The Pursuit of God

$17.99

Paperback
Whether you are thirsting for more of God or do not yet know of the "mighty longing after God" that so consumed A.W. Tozer's life and ministry, The Pursuit of God will draw you into a deep, abiding relationship with the One who "nourishes the soul." THis spiritual masterpiece exposes the roadbacks that keep us from fully knowing God, reveals our responsibility of the pursuit, and ultimately leads us into the very presence of God himself.

- Publisher During a train trip from Chicago in the late 1940s, A.W. Tozer began to work on The Pursuit of God. He wrote all night long, the words coming to him as fast as he could put them down. By the next morning, when the train pulled into McAllen, Texas, the rough draft was done. Although written in such a remarkably short period of time, the depth, clarity and completeness of Tozer's message has made The Pursuit of God an enduring favorite -- about 1.7 million copies in print in 15 languages. Prepare yourself for a deeply meaningful and enjoyable experience.

Meet the Author

A W Tozer

A. W. Tozer died in 1963, but his life and spiritual legacy continue to draw many into a deeper knowledge of God. During his lifetime, Tozer pastored several Christian and Missionary Alliance churches. Missions and the deeper life in Christ were his primary focus. He also served as editor of the Alliance Life. Tozer authored more than 40 books, (at least two of which are considered classics: The Pursuit of God and Knowledge of the Holy), a tremendous accomplishment for a man who never received a formal theological education. The presence of God was his classroom, his notebooks and tools consisted of prayer, God's Word, and the writings of early Christians and theologians, the Puritans, and great men of faith. - Publisher.

An Author of Profound Thought
5 stars By Jakob, May 15 2017
Pursuit of God delves deep into the fundamentals of man's relationship with God and more so that of a Christian's relationship with God. Tozer's writing is as if he is taking notes whilst listening to sermons of God. Pursuit of God is not a book on the theology of the Christian faith, but it is a book of real life application as well as a form of spiritual inspiration and conviction. This work inspires Christians to live lives that exalt God; that put Him at the center of our hearts. Whilst he deals with profound notions, he writes in such a manner that most adult readers can understand. This is definitely a book to be read for those that want to explore the character of God.

Unique Devotional Writing
4 stars By MatthewT, Aug 31 2016
This classic book by Tozer is a devotional style writing.
Each chapter is a short devotional thought based on a verse or two of Scripture. Each chapter also ends with a short prayer of application to the reader. The chapters are not connected, so can be read separately.

Tozer has a very unique writing style which appeals to some and misses the mark for others.
This book would be a good introduction to Tozer for the reader.

Although the chapters are brief, they are challenges and convict.

Tozer will connect with some and miss others. Worth reading to experience the great Christian writer.

Great Quality
5 stars By Tikvah08, Jun 28 2016
I felt compelled to let you all know the bindingquality of this book is excellent! Being an older classic and a relatively short book, most publishers print it as a very cheap production. Not this edition - great print size too.
