Valuable Resource
5 stars By Sharon, Feb 27 2013
This well written book from one of my favourite Christian authors for children is a valuable addition to the Christian family library. It's not everyone's cup of tea, as my sister found it heavy going when reading to her 9 year old. She felt the literary handling of the demonically oppressed girl in the story disturbing and felt it was unsuitable for her child (given her daughter's age and maturity). My children happily handled the story when I read it aloud to them, but admittedly it required some extra guidance to help them through the perplexing and often misunderstood issues of demonic oppression and mental health. In my opinion this is a valuable resource to introduce children to these real life issues. The author's sensitively written, balanced approach leaves no doubts or fears with the reader as the power of Jesus Christ as Victor is clearly presented. After a journey tackling injustice, guilt, fears and revenge the author masterly leads the reader to the ultimate answer: Forgiveness, receiving Jesus and being transformed by His Spirit through faith in Him. The resolution is solid and delivers to the reader a sense of celebration in His Victory. I pray this book may prove to be really helpful to troubled children, offering solid hope in Christ. Highly Recommended.
