The year is 1535 and William Tyndale is being pursued across Europe by Henry VIII's bounty hunters. What is his crime? Murder? Theft? No, none of these. William's 'crime' is translating the Bible into English for the common people. Is he willing to risk his life for the cause?

This episode of THE TORCHLIGHTERS follows William's adventures as he works in secret, moving from town to town as a fugitive to avoid capture. Friends and allies help him along, but enemies may be lurking around any corner. Come along and see whether he completes his task before the king's men loose in on him.

Special features include English and Spanish languages with optional subtitles, an interview with Dr David Daniell, Tyndale scholar, an interview with actor Russell Boutler, voice of Tyndale, comprehensive leader's guide with background information, timeline, additional resources and more, reproducible student handouts, including comprehension and discussion questions, puzzles, activities, colour and more.

5 stars By Emily, Dec 27 2017
The William Tyndale story is one episode in the Torchlighters DVD series. William Tyndale was a wanted man because he had translated the Bible from Latin into English for the common people. Does William survive as he works in secret or does he get caught? Join William as he runs for his life to bring God's Word to the people. Great for all ages.

The main presentation, a 30 minute very simple animation suitable for children and adults is a very light summary of Tyndale's life.

The DVD also has an additional feature on a sub-menu called 'William Tyndale: Man with a mission'. This includes extensive material from an interview with a biographer of William Tyndale who paints a thoroughly detailed picture of the life and times of William Tyndale in all aspects.

This feature is educational, entertaining and inspiring, and is supported by excerpts from a renactment film of William Tyndale. There is also additional interview content that lights up the spiritual importance of the word.

The DVD is an excellent resource for home education, christian fellowship, and personal progress and should even inspire and entertain unbelievers. 10 stars.
