I love this book which is just as well as my grandkids keep asking for it over and over. It is the story of Jesus healing the paralyzed man that friends had lowered through the roof but told with the usual engaging style of all the Lost Sheep series. I love the repetitive lines that the kids can say. I love the excitement expressed. I love the bright colours and bold pictures.

This series is fantastic! This book retells the story of Jesus' forgiveness and healing of the paralysed man with flair and (quite a lot of!) creative license e.g. Jesus: "Teaching and healing people is hard work. It's time to relax with a banana milkshake."!! This humourous style and the cartoon-style illustrations will appear to young children, but at the same time they will be learning that Jesus has the power to forgive sins and heal people. The creativity used in this book (and in the whole series of 'Lost Sheep' books) does not detract from the message of the Bible, but rather is used to help convey biblical truths in an age-appropriate and fun way. 'Cecil's page' is added at the back to help parents, grandparents, Sunday School teachers, etc guide their child in a discussion before and after the book and read the biblical text that the book is based on.

I love this book! As does my young child, who, of course, it's actually written for! With bright illustrations, likeable characters and that down-to-earth practical Aussie humour (of course Jesus would offer his friends hospitality in the form of banana milkshakes!), it tells the story of the man let down through the roof by his friends so Jesus could heal him. What I loved best was the way it portrayed the man's friends. They're the sort of people you'd want by your side. A great story kids of all ages (but particularly pre-school) will enjoy.
