Enjoyable Amish Fiction
4 stars By sarah, Apr 21 2015
Kathleen writes another typical Amish romance. The narrator Kirsten Potter is excellent. conveying all the voices so well. It was easy to become immersed in the story due to the competence of Kirsten's voices for both male and female characters. Emma still holds a candle for her lost first love and has to deal with the difficulty of him returning to Middlefied no longer an Amish man. Both characters have changed over the time they have been separated, and the story focuses on their reunion and the somewhat 'messy' circumstances surrounding them in reaching their happy ever after.
Despite its predictability, Treasuring Emma is an enjoyable read.

Good Read
3 stars By MichelleB, Aug 25 2012
This book was an enjoyable and easy read, although some parts of the story are somewhat confusing and really don't have any real introduction to them.

The main characters, for the most part are strong and well developed, particularly those of Emma, her sister and grandmother. I found the secondary characters to be underdeveloped and in some cases downright confusing as to their place in the actual story, until after the event.

Having said all of that, I did enjoy this book. It contains all of the elements that make a good book, but was let down by poor character development and a lack of back-story.

Note: I received a digital copy of this book free from the publisher through the booksneeze.com book review bloggers program. I am not required to give a positive review, just an honest one. The opinions expressed are my own.
