Meet the Author

Dee Henderson

Pastor's daughter Dee Henderson is a lifelong resident of Illinois, USA, and currently resides in Springfield. She believes that marketing books should be about the stories rather than the writer, so she keeps a low profile compared to many authors. Her background is in mathematics and computing science (B.Sc 1988) and she had a high paying job as an engineer before she moved into full-time writing in 1996. Her technical expertise has given her an unusually keen insight into the structural aspects of storytelling. The results are plain to see; since 1999, Dee has produced two bestselling fiction series - the acclaimed O'Malley series and Uncommon Heroes - as well as eleven stand-alone titles.

Dee's books brilliantly mix suspense and romance, and her characters undergo varied and interesting faith journeys that are integrated skillfully into the storylines. Dee's work has won or been nominated for several prestigious industry awards including the RWA's RITA Award, the Christy Award, the ECPA Gold Medallion, the Holt Medallion, the National Readers' Choice Award, and the Golden Quill.

Technical thriller
4 stars By Hannah, Jul 21 2017
The aftermath of the September Eleven attacks told from the point of view of a CIA agent as they tried to hunt down the perpetrators. I found this book very technical, as the different defence and spy agencies worked together to track down and follow leads. Though I really enjoyed the relationship between Cougar (from previous books) and Darcy, there were a few too many characters and conspiracies going on for my un-analytical mind to follow. That said, if you like analytical thrillers and fiction based around true events, you'll love this book because it truly is brilliantly written.

wonderful
4 stars By Tracey, Mar 28 2017
Loved the intelligence and independence that Darcy portrays. It is a real eye opener into the risks and dangers of under cover work. It shows how she voluntarily enters dangerous situations based on her belief that she can pretend to be whatever her cover needs her to be. She only starts to question the risks she takes when she has a growing interest in a seal.

True Honor
5 stars By Lindy Anning, Sep 22 2012
True Honor is the third book in the Uncommon Heroes series by Dee Henderson. All four books follow the life of a different career in high-risk law enforcement.

This novel follows the career path of undercover CIA operative Darcy. In the opening scenes of the book, she walks into an ambush and is rescued by a handsome Navy SEAL, Sam Houston. As circumstances force both into secretive workplaces and grueling schedules, Darcy and Sam find themselves working together on a common objective. As the pieces of the puzzle come together, Darcy and Sam find themselves in the middle of an increasingly dangerous game.

I found the world of CIA regulations, and in specific, and the necessities of undercover existence, to be completely fascinating. However, coupled with a great story and believable romance, it was a winning combination for me. This book is a must for action, adventure or mystery readers. In fact, no matter what type of book you love, you will find something in this story to love.
