This book was sweet, if a little crazy at times as the main character - a Pinkerton spy - tried to keep her undercover identity actually undercover despite being far too interested in her 'fake' husband, who doesn't know he's fake. Or being investigated. Loved the characters and the mystery running its way through the book, and the crazy situations they find themselves in. It was also interesting discovering more about the Pinkerton Detective Agency and early methods of solving crimes before CSI came along.
This is a really enjoyable romance with a touch of fun suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in this series about female Pinkerton detectives. Maggie is a Pinkerton detective sent as a mail order bride for a man who is a suspected train robber. I loved the chemistry and mix of characters in this story: Maggie, Garrett the suspect, his two rambunctious children and his colourful aunt as well as a number of people from the small town where it is set. This was a really enjoyable book to read and I am eagerly awaiting book 3.
Undercover Bride was a really good book. I did struggle to get into the book at the start but then it picked up and was really good. Margaret Brownley did a fantastic job of creating believable characters and an interesting storyline to keep me interested. Another great book to read on a relaxing afternoon.
