About "Unglued (Unabridged, 5 Cds)"
God gave us emotions to experience life, not destroy it! Lysa TerKeurst admits that she, like most women, has had experiences where others bump into her happy and she comes emotionally unglued. We stuff, we explode, or we react somewhere in between. What do we do with these raw emotions? Is it really possible to make emotions work for us instead of against us? Yes, and in her usual inspiring and practical way, Lysa will show you how. Filled with gut-honest personal examples and biblical teaching, Unglued will equip you to: Know with confidence how to resolve conflict in your important relationships. Find peace in your most difficult relationships as you learn to be honest but kind when offended. Identify what type of reactor you are and how to significantly improve your communication. Respond with no regrets by managing your tendencies to stuff, explode, or react somewhere in between. Gain a deep sense of calm by responding to situations out of your control without acting out of control.

Lysa shares wisdom, Biblical teaching and personal insight into controlling our emotions and ourselves. A really encouraging read and with guided actions to master your reactions, this book shows you it is truly possible to change!
I have read it multiple times. There is something so unique about Lysa's writing that makes you feel like you're having a chat over coffee with a friend. I think this book personally talks to me because I tend to get frazzled over the little stuff, and this book gave me some go-to phrases to just help me put things into perspective. The one quote that resounds with me is "Feelings are indicators, not dictators.". Quite a few gems like these in the book and some parts where Lysa gets honest was like getting a peek into my own brain. So for the women out there like me, who feels like life can get kinda "unglue-ing" and know that God intended us to be held together by His grace and wisdom, I would highly recommend you to check this book out.
I found this book to be a really helpful tool for gaining control of my emotions and behaviour. As a wife and mum, I could relate to Lysa's examples and could easily identify the same flaws in myself. I found it very easy to read and could easily read it over and over. I also have the devotional which pretty much tells the same stories but in a day to day, shorter format. I find myself going back to it when I'm feeling overwhelmed or when I need a reminder about how God wants me to behave.
I found the book a little lacking in content, and I disliked her writing style. That may or may not have been influenced by watching the accompanying video in our study group. I do not think that she adequately addressed the real issues women have behind coming "unglued". I think that the accompanying video and study book were a little bit of more of the same, although it might be helpful for others who learn and connect in different ways. Some of the scriptural connections were tenuous, at best. I was very much looking forward to reading this book, however, because the topic is so very pertinent to many women today. I did not take away completely nothing, however - there was still some useful teaching, though if given the chance I would not buy the book again.
