Customer Reviews For "Weird: Because Normal Isn't Working"Write Your Own Review
I loved Weird and the very practical challenges it presented. It helped me evaluate and think about many areas of my life and pointed me in the direction I want to go. I think if any of us takes a good look around it is pretty clear that 'normal' isn't working so well. Weird challenges the status quo and challenges us as Christians to live skillfully by putting Gods wisdom and His ways into practice in our lives. The result.....is wonderfully Weird!
The pace of everyday life makes it easy for us to neglect our relationship with God and let our jobs and schedules dictate our lives rather than Him. Craig Groeschel's Weird is an excellent book to help us take stock of our lives. Groeschel examines five areas of life: Time, Money, Relationships, Sex, and Values. Everyone struggles with at least one of these aspects of life, and many of us struggle with all of them in some way or other. Groeschel looks at the scope of each problem and takes a practical approach to these areas by examining what the bible has to say and how to apply those biblical principles. He includes an number of personal stories to help clarify points and illustrate how easily we are distracted from God. Weird is very readable but also very challenging. It is a useful book for new Christians to see how Christianity can be practically worked out, and mature Christians to critically evaluate their lives. Groeschel's demonstrates that to be sold out completely to God means that you will be weird in pretty much every way. It's pretty confronting because it's true.
