This is an excellent Christian book on personal productivity. Matt Perman draws from the best secular thinkers on personal productivity and effectiveness, assessing them from a Christian worldview and adding his own distinctive aspects to how we get good things done. His basic premise is that true effectiveness is more than getting things done efficiently: it's doing the RIGHT things, things that help others and glorify God. This book is full of heaps of good practical advice on personal productivity, and I've already benefited greatly from implementing what it says into my workweek. Highly recommended.
Matt Perman doesn't leave us satisfied with seeking productivity for an early retirement but urges us to seek God's glory through loving others as we love ourselves. How are we best going to love others? By making sure that we do the best things first. He guides through the steps of setting out a mission statement that is in keeping with these principles, then designing a flexible weekly schedule to help achieve that mission. This is better than other books on the same subject because of the underlying drive to seek God's glory by loving others through a productive life.
This is a great book for those seeking some real practical teachings and guide on understanding practicality and theoreticaltheological understanding of Christian life.
