Absolutely beautiful
5 stars By Hannah, Nov 01 2017
This incredible story went far deeper than I expected, dealing with long term emotions caused by alcoholism, regret, poor self-worth and the holocaust (thankfully not all in one person!). Had I known this before I read it, and not absolutely loved the first book in the series, I might not have chosen it but I am so, so glad I did. The story was not only beautiful and swoon-worthy, it both challenged and inspired my own faith. Caden, the heroine, is just beautiful and the healing she both finds and offers, amazing. And, once again, most disappointed the Red Door Inn doesn't actually exist so I can meet all these people and experience the beauty of Prince Edward Island they share.

Delightful
5 stars By Jacqui, Sep 05 2017
This second book in the Prince Edward Dreams series is as beautifully written as the first and continues some of the story of Marie and the Red Door Inn from the first book while enthralling you with the story of Caden and Adam. I loved how Caden's really low self image is dealt with and how Adam work's through his pain from war guilt. Like the first book this is so well written that although you feel their pain, you also feel God's healing Spirit permeating the story. It is a really delightful story to read.

A delightful culinary romance
5 stars By Margot, Jul 31 2017
More beautiful settings on Prince Edward Island. More romantic escapades at the Red Door Inn. More delightful characters in the small out-of-the-way town on the island. More faith-building, life-changing, inspirational drama. This book had more of everything we grew to expect from Liz Johnson after reading The Red Door Inn, Part 1 of the Prince Edward Island series. Whilst the books could stand alone, they are better read in sequence and in the recommended order, as characters from book 1 are developed further, and some plot points are presumed as prior knowledge. I highly recommend the series and look forward to reading part 3.

For Anne of Green Gables fans
5 stars By Iola, Jan 08 2017
I know there are a lot of Anne of Green Gables fans out there. Well, this book is nothing like Anne, but it is set on Prince Edward Island ... so if you like Christian romance and you love Anne, you'll want to read this.

Where Two Hearts Meet is the second book in Liz Johnson's Prince Edward Island Dreams series, following The Red Door Inn.

Caden is one of the main viewpoint characters, and she comes across as a competent enough cook, but doesn't come across as a particularly engaging character. I was about halfway through the novel before I realised this is because she doesn't value herself, doesn't see anything in herself to value. She sees herself as a frightened failure.

But that's not how Adam sees her, and that's where the novel goes from solid to excellent: as we begin to see Caden through Adam's eyes, and as Adam begins to thaw and become the person he's meant to be ... through Caden's influence, and the influence of others. Anyway, the story improved a lot once I made this connection.

Overall, Where Two Hearts Meet is a lovely story of discovery and redemption with a hint of mystery, and I'm looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

A very satisfying romance
5 stars By Katie Donovan, Nov 30 2016
This is a wonderfully sweet (but not saccharine), heartfelt romance set in beautiful 'Anne of Green Gables' country, replete with the aromas of cinnamon, coffee, and the Island air. The Red Door Inn is struggling financially, so when Marie receives word that a travel writer with the prestigious Rest Retreats magazine will be coming for a mystery visit, a favourable article seems like their best hope of getting the bookings they need to get them through the season. When journalist Adam Jacobs arrives on the Inn's doorstep (albeit a day early) Marie puts two and two together, and gets . . . five; and gives Caden the job of showing Adam the Island and making a good impression. There are some lovely heartfelt moments in this novel - not just between Adam and Caden, but also between Adam and the elderly Jewish couple, Levi and Esther, who are staying at the Red Door Inn as guests. If you're after a satisfying romance with warmth, sincerity, and cinnamon rolls, this is definitely the book for you.
