Work Matters: Connecting Sunday Worship to Monday Work

Tom Nelson

$19.99

Paperback

Work. For some this word represents drudgery and the mundane. For others work is an idol to be served. In either case, a biblical understanding of work as godly activity and a means of spiritual formation is lost.

^^Striking a balance between theological depth and practical counsel, Work Matters: Connecting Sunday Worship to Monday Work engages the theological basis of God's plan for everyday work. Tom Nelson explains how the fall has impacted vocation, how God's redemption touches every sphere of our lives including our work, and how what we do now is connected to what we will do forever. As Nelson connects Sunday worship to Monday morning, he gives readers practical tools for understanding their own gifts, so that they may better live in accord with God's design for work.

Best Book on Vocation so far
5 stars By Julz, Jun 18 2014
This is the best book on the doctrine of vocation so far. What I like about this book is that the author writes with clarity, and makes the theological doctrines very easy to understand for layman. Furthermore, at the end of every chapter, there is always a story of someone's life experience, which reinforces the points made in the chapter. This book will provide us with biblical perspectives about work, how we should view our day to day work through the lens of Scripture. Greatly recommended for those Christians who want to find the meaning of work, and to become God's effective witnesses in their workplaces.
