Hughes Oliphant Old (D.Theol., University of Neuchatel, Switzerland) is John H. Leith Professor of Reformed Theology and Dean of the Institute for Reformed Worship at Erskine Theological Seminary, Columbia, South Carolina. He is the author of the magisterial seven volume history of preaching The Reading and Preaching of the Scriptures in the Worship of the Christian Church
